Brood Jennets

|
Button, Jill and Blossom |
|

|
|
We
welcomed these three beautiful ladies in early summer! We had the
opportunity to purchase Button and Jill, who are bred for July 2008 foals
(we're counting on spots), and at the last minute, in one of our "weak
donkey moments", we decided to take Blossom too. These three have been
together for several years and we hated to break up the trio....you know how
that goes....so Full Moon Farm is now home to alot of spots. We'll bring
you updates when the babies start arriving!

Eagle Creek Button |

|
|
Eagle Creek Button
gray
and white spotted, mostly white, 31"
DOB:
6-14-03
Dam: Keller's Little Spice, gray and white spotted, mostly white
Sire: Keller's Cole's Little Bit, gray dun
Button is a beautiful, delicate little jennet, who is mostly white (in the
pictures, she is a little dirty from transport). She has a small, pretty
head, a good top line and a sweet personality. A little shy when she first
came, she is now one of the first girls at the feed trough. Button had a
silver foal with a dark muzzle in 2007.We loved her from the minute we saw
her and we can hardly wait to see her foal, due in July. She is bred to
Sunset Acres Rustico, 33", a beautiful red with extensive white points.
Rustico's sire is The Fireman, 32 1/2", dark red and his dam is Sunset Acres
Sadie, who is brown. Rustico is a very handsome, fantastic jack, and while
we have seen some of his foals, we are looking forward to having some here
at Full Moon Farm.

Keller's Little Jill |
|

|
|
Keller's Little
Jill
gray and white
spotted, mostly white, 32"
DOB: 1-5-01
Dam: S & K Hall's
Alice, gray dun, 33 3/4"
Sire: Keller's
Little Stormy, gray and white spotted, 34"
Jill is a lovely
jennet with such expressive eyes with full mascara. She will have her 3rd
foal in July, having had 2 previous spotted foals. The sire to her 2008
foal is Sunset Acres Rustico (see his description above under Button's
bio). Jill is beautifully marked and we are sure her foal will be also.
Excitement is running high as we await these foals from our new spotted
jennets.

Eagle Creek Blossom |
|

|
|
Eagle Creek Blossom
gray and white
spotted with gray saddle, 32"
DOB:
10-7-03
Dam: Keller's
Little Jill, gray and white spotted, mostly white, 32"
Sire: Keller's
Connor's Eeyore, gray dun
Blossom is a
gorgeous jennet, but still a little shy. She is coming around, however,
since she has discovered that she likes to be brushed. She had a spotted
jennet foal in 2007. She looks a lot like our 2 year old, Jasmine, and in
the field, it is hard to tell them apart. When we bought her, we thought
she was bred to Rustico, however an ultrasound proved that she is open. We
will breed her this summer to our white spotted jack, Artic Man, for a 2009
foal.....it is sure to have spots, because Artic Man always throws spots. |

TSB Full Moon Chocolatta |
|

|
|
TSB Full Moon Chocolatta
chocolate brown, 31 ½”
DOB: 12-31-2001
Dam and Sire untraced
Chocolatta is a lovely, small jennet with a sweet
personality. When we first saw her in a large group of donkeys (we were
“just looking” that day), she came right up to us and just begged to go home
with us. We bought her without thinking twice because she was small and we
liked her looks. She has produced two really nice foals for us. We sold
her first foal, a dark jennet, to a farm in Tenneessee and her
and her 2007 foal was sold
to a Kentucky farm. She is bred back to our white jack for an August 2008 foal.
(Artic Man got overly enthusiastic at breeding time and nipped Chocolatta on
the neck, thus, the reddish patch of hair where we treated her with peroxide
and rose oil. We never thought about it bleaching her hair until it was too
late).

Derbytowns Bravo's Ebony |
|

|
|
Derbytown’s Bravo’s Ebony
solid black, 32”
DOB: 8-31-2000
Dam: Half Ass Acres Goldie Hawn, brown/gray & white
spotted, 31 ¼”
Sire: Sweetwater Farm’s Bravo, Brown & white
spotted, 32”
Ebony is a beautiful, classy looking jennet and has
the best pedigree of all of our miniatures. She is solid, shiny black and
what a lady! She is never aggressive and if we are not careful, she can get
pushed away from the feed trough. She has good conformation, a beautiful
head, deep expressive eyes and she is an outstanding mother.
She will be bred to our
white jack in May, 2008. We would love to get a jennet out of Ebony!

|
OGF JuJu |
|

|
|
OGF JuJu
gray dun with sorrel highlights, 32”
DOB: 9-17-97
Dam: Pheasant Meadow Farm’s Amanda, gray-dun, 35 ¾”
Sire: Deer Valley’s Snookums, 34”
JuJu is a nice jennet who is a good mother and whose
2007 foal, Tiny Tim, is a favorite of all who visit the farm. JuJu is
a graceful jennet with good conformation and a good figure for a jennet who
is 10 years old. When we look at the herd in the field, it is hard to
tell her from one of our yearlings. She is bred back to our white jack for an August 2008
foal.

|
Mack Henry Little Cindi |
|

|
|
Mack Henry Little Cindi
gray-dun, 32”
DOB: 5-20-06
Dam: Fisher’s Tabasco Sauce, gray and white
spotted, 32 ½”
Sire: Fisher’s Ghost, F. Frosted Spotted White,
30”
Cindi is a recent addition to our herd and she is an
elegant jennet, with a nice straight top line and a beautiful, delicate
head. She is bred
back to our sorrel jack, Henry, for a 2008 foal. We call her Isabelle because
of another fairy tale princess and to us she looks like a princess.
|
|
Windcrest Little Trudy |
|
|
|
Windcrest Little Trudy
dark gray/brown, 33”
DOB: 9-8-96
Dam: Sky Point Jessica, dark brown, 31 ½”
Sire: Sky Point Donkeyote, dark brown, 32 ½”
Trudy is a fine jennet, but is a little swayback.
She has had a lot of nice foals, but she has “lost her figure”. She is very
gentle and a wonderful mother. She is bred back
to our white jack for an August 2008 foal and we are betting on spots. |
|
Sutherlin's Little Emily Sue |
|

|
|
Sutherlin’s Little Emily Sue
black/brown *NLP, 33 ½”
DOB: 9-19-94
Dam: Sutherlin’s Little Patches, dark brown, 34 ½”
Sire: Sutherlin’s Little Boseephous, black, 35”
Emily Sue is a wonderful jennet, unusual in that she
has long hair, especially her mane. She is a very dark brown, but in the
sun, she has a reddish tint and her mane is slightly bleached by the sun.
We have never seen a donkey like her and we are so glad she is in our herd.
Emily
Sue is bred back to Henry for a June foal. We have nicknamed her “Rapunzel”,
after the fairy tale princess who had the long hair. |
|
Hopper's Joye |
|

|
|
Hopper’s Joye
gray-dun, 311/2”
DOB: 10-26-93
Dam: Hopper’s Mary, gray-dun, 33”
Sire: Delta Jackson, gray and white spotted, 35”
Joye is our original jennet, taken in on a trade in
1999. We bought her sight unseen and we loved her from the minute she
stepped off the trailer. She was 6 years old and we never knew if she had
had a foal or not. She had her first foal for us in 2001 and has had a
beautiful spotted foal every year since. We always breed her to our white
jack and with his spots and spots from her sire, we can always depend on her
to produce a flashy foal. This year she had her prettiest foal ever, Jypsy,
with sorrel ears and a beautiful spot pattern. Joye is bred back to our white jack for a September 2008
foal. |
|
Zaida and Camilla |
|

|
|
We
have been looking for companions for our two herd sires and we found Zaida
and Camilla, a mother-daughter pair. Their pedigree is untraced, but we are
getting them registered and already the jacks have settled down and slowed
their pacing. We refer to Camilla and Zaida as their "new permanent
wives"....and we think it is a good solution. Camilla is in with our white
spotted jack, Artic Man and Zaida is in with our sorrel jack, Henry. They
were both open so it was the perfect opportunity to breed them, so we
welcome these two jennets to Full Moon Farm.
